Refrigerant is the core medium of the refrigeration system. Whether the refrigerant is charged correctly is related to the normal operation of the refrigeration system. Therefore, it is necessary to adopt the correct refrigerant charging method and pay attention to some matters. The precautions for refrigerant charging are as follows:
1. The amount of refrigerant must be appropriate. Insufficient refrigerant charging will cause insufficient evaporation in the evaporator, leading to excessively low suction pressure in the compressor, reduced cooling capacity, and may cause the compressor to overheat; overcharging will cause too much refrigerant to enter the condenser, leading to excessively high discharge pressure, liquid refrigerant backflow, and may even damage the compressor.
2. Pay attention to the state of the refrigerant. Refrigerants exist in both gaseous and liquid forms, and the charging methods for different types of refrigerants also vary. Generally speaking, when only a small amount of refrigerant is charged into the system, gaseous charging method is usually used for higher accuracy; when a large amount of refrigerant needs to be charged, the liquid charging method is often used for faster speed.
3. How to release excess refrigerant. When charging refrigerant, it is sometimes necessary to first release the refrigerant inside; when overcharging, it is also necessary to release the excess refrigerant. If the refrigerant charge in the system exceeds 3-5 kg, it has recovery value and can be recovered using a specialized recovery device; otherwise, let the refrigerant vent to the atmosphere in vapor form.
